THE ALPHA DANCERS CLASSES

Our classes and choreographies are often based around LGBTQ+ anthems and the fantastic artists that create them. No dance experience is required, as our fantastic class leaders will teach you a new routine at every class.
Each class is 1 hour and will begin with an introduction from the class leader followed by a 10-minute warm-up. We will then teach the routine step by step before building the routine section by section. Questions, laughter and sass are encouraged throughout.
Halfway through the class, we ensure every member is happy to move on to the next step... No Alpha is left behind!! Towards the end of the class, we will run the routine a few times with the option to film for social media.

WE ARE MORE THAN JUST Dance classes for the queer community

We consider ourselves a 'dance family'. Living in London can be difficult and sometimes lonely, and our friends may not share our love for dance, so we actively aim to create bonds and friendships outside the studio with our weekly socials following class. There are also theatre nights, brunches, outdoor walks, etc... to ensure our dance family grows with like-minded, passionate people.

members are dancers too!!! Dance is constantly on my mind; whether at the supermarket or on the tube, you can guarantee I'm dancing in my head.
Dance is a way of changing/enhancing my mood. I always feel that when I dance, all my worries fall away, and all I'm left with is pure joy and passion, which I love to create in every class for all our members.
I truly appreciate everyone who comes to class regardless of their dance ability. The only thing I'm looking for is for each person to have the best time and shows those around them love and encouragement.

a teacher and taught there for over 8 wonderful years. I've always loved to dance and was often yelled at by my parents for making too much noise in my room, dancing around pretending I was on tour with Britney.
Dancing brings me a joy I find hard to describe, and teaching it only ramps that up. I joined the Alphas Dancers a few years ago, and it was the best decision ever. It's a freeing, fun atmosphere where you can be authentic and forget your troubles for an hour. It's no lie when I say it's changed my life, from my dance ability to the people I have met along the way.
I love seeing people come to my class and dance in joy and often sweat, having a great time. It's not about what you know or how well you can dance: the Alpha Dancers is all about the enjoyment and love of dance and the connection you gain with the community.

THE ALPHA DANCERS PERFORMANCE GROUP

As well as multiple weekly dance classes for the queer community, we have a Performance Group ready to show up and tune up the PARTY!!! The Performance group often performs at Prides, local bars and even the West End stage.

I’ve never danced before, is that ok?

OF COURSE!!!!! All our dance classes for the queer community are aimed at all abilities. Each routine is taught in a way that is easy to pick up but can also challenge you whether you are a complete beginner or have lots of dance experience.

Is the class just for gay men?

Absolutely not. Our dance classes for the queer community welcome & celebrate absolutely everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, heritage, or age. Everyone is welcome in our house.

Do I need to book a term of classes?

In short, no. we understand that life can keep you busy, and we can’t always commit to a weekly commitment. Therefore, each class can be booked separately. There will always be a fresh new routine for each individual class.

Can I join the performance group?

The Performance Group is available to join. However, auditions will be held whenever new members are required.
